Drin Starbreeze was born to Cayd Starbreeze in the small Elven down of Arelael, deep in the great Harken Forest. She was a child of a brief love affair between her mother and an Eladrin wizard who had comissioned Cayd, a renowned seamstress, to design a cloak for him. After Cayd finished the project the man shifted into the Feywild and was never seen again.

Drin grew up in the Harken forest. Although she loved the finery that her Mother created she had no talent for sewing. Instead she showed a great proficiency with the bow and spent most of her time learning to hunt with her Uncle Leef. When she turned sixty she ventured to the Cloak Wood to test her skills against the rumored abominations of nature that lurked there.

After two years she started to crave a break. She felt the need to get in touch with her Eladrin heritage and began travelling North to Shadowfell where she hoped to meet some of her kind. She changed her name to Ethenye and claimed pure Eladrin heritage.
